The 2006 San Diego Comic Con will take place July 20-23 with preview night on the July 19. This will be 36th year for the event which saw over 104,000 people step onto their show floor in 2005. Companies spend a lot of time and effort to make a showing at this event and many exclusives will be offered again this year. We have compiled a list of exclusives to be offered in 2006. The CW Announces Its 06-07 Schedule

The CW Network announced its inaugural 2006-2007 season premiere schedule today at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. The new fifth broadcast network, targeting young adults 18-34, will roll-out its premiere season schedule over the course of a two-week period:

Launching with an explosive two-hour premiere, The CW kicks off with its biggest hit, Tyra Banks' AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL on Wednesday, September 20 (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET). Returning for its seventh cycle, the runaway runway hit series gives real people an opportunity to prove that they can make it in the high-stress, high-stakes world of supermodeling to determine who will make the cut as they vie for a professional modeling contract.

The roll-out continues as the internationally popular, totally outrageous FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN makes its CW debut with all-new, action-packed shows on Friday, September 22 (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET).

The Camdens are back when 7TH HEAVEN, the longest-running family drama in television history, returns for a record-breaking 11th season on Monday, September 25th (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET), followed by the series premiere of RUNAWAY (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET). From executive producer Darren Star (Sex and the City), this new drama follows The Raders, a normal middle-class American family on the run, hiding from the legal system that unjustly accused Paul Rader (Donnie Wahlberg) of a terrible and violent crime. Adding to the danger, the real killer is now threatening the lives of the Rader children. As Paul works to protect his loved ones and uncover the evidence that will clear him, he lives with the daily fear that someone will accidentally reveal the family's dark secret, their true identities.

The eclectic mix of everyday folks and loveable lunatics from Stars Hollow returns with new romantic twists and turns, as well as the series' patented snappy dialogue when GILMORE GIRLS premieres its seventh season on Tuesday, September 26 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET).

Following a new episode of TOP MODEL, ONE TREE HILL(9:00-10:00 p.m. ET)enters its fourth season on Wednesday, September 27, as the group of high school seniors find themselves dealing with life-altering experiences they will never forget.

Clark Kent returns with new enemies and new allies as the Superman mythology deepens when SMALLVILLE premieres on Thursday, September 28 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET), followed by the Winchester brothers' relentless pursuit of demonic and ghostly evils on SUPERNATURAL (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).

Kicking off The CW's Sunday Night Comedy Block is the return of Chris Rock's EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS on October 1 (7:00-7:30 p.m. ET), Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's ALL OF US/ (7:30-8:00 p.m. ET), GIRLFRIENDS (8:00-8:30 p.m. ET) and the series premiere of THE GAME (8:30-9:00 p.m. ET). This new comedy, from the producers of GIRLFRIENDS, takes a comedic behind-the-scenes look at the lives of the wives and girlfriends of the star athletes on an NFL team. AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) wraps up the night with an encore presentation of the previous week's episode.

The critically acclaimed VERONICA MARS is back on the case, rounding out The CW's historic premiere launch on Tuesday, October 3 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), as Veronica and her crew head to college for an even more mysterious third season.

Jones Casting To Be Announced

SCI FI Wire has confirmed that Hellboy actor Doug Jones (Abe Sapien) will be making a casting announcement at Comic-Con International in San Diego this week concerning his participation in an upcoming, unnamed comic-based film. "There will be a major casting announcement regarding a popular comic-book film at Comic-Con," John Zander, Jones' publicist, said in an interview.

But Zander declined to comment on rumors, first reported on Ain't It Cool News, that Jones would be the motion-capture actor for the Silver Surfer in the upcoming Fantastic Four sequel.

Jones is also expected to reprise the role of the amphibious Abe Sapien in a proposed Hellboy sequel.

Jones will be appearing with Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro at Comic-Con to promote del Toro's upcoming fantasy film Pan's Labyrinth, in which Jones also has a role.


TMNT Trailer With The Ant Bully

From Super Hero Hype:
While we fully expect TMNT (aka "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles") director Kevin Munroe to show the teaser trailer for the CG animated movie on Thursday at 2pm at Comic-Con, we've confirmed that the clip will hit theaters with Warner Bros.' "The Ant Bully" the following week on July 28. We'll most likely see the trailer online before then.

The film is scheduled for a March 30, 2007 release.


SCI FI Prescribes More 'Painkillers'

The SCI FI Channel has ordered 22 episodes of the live action Painkiller Jane based on the character created by Joe Quesada (now Marvel EIC) and Jimmy Palmiotti and first published by Event Comics. The series will debut on the SCI FI Channel in January of 2007. The popular cable network aired a Painkiller Jane TV movie/pilot (see "Painkiller Jane Set for SCI FI") last December.

Although the cast for the new series is not yet set (Emmanuelle Vaugier starred in the pilot), production is slated to begin at Vancouver's Insight Studios next month. Dynamite Entertainment revived the Painkiller Jane character in comics


Free Buffy Magazine With Every Glory Pre-Order SDCC

To help promote their upcoming exclusive Glory action figure, Titan Publishing will be offering a free issue of their Buffy the Vampire Slayer Magazine with all pre-orders taken at this summer's San Diego Comic Con! Jada Toys Announces A New Resident In Chub City

Come visit booth # 4515, Jada Toys will feature their ever popular character line Chub City, debuting a new character and new cars at Comic Con.

Chub City follows the ambitious goals of six hip, multi-ethnic kids who dream big and cruise in hot (remote control) rides. Along with the Chub City crew, Jada will display a life size Chub character with its life size Chub City Toyota Scion XP. Attached are pictures of the crew and some of their vehicles.

Sherman Oaks, California -- Good news, everyone! Toynami is pleased to announce its acquisition of the action-figure license for the Matt Groening's continuously popular animated series Futurama, currently airing on Cartoon Network.

"We've had our eye on Futurama for a long time now, and with the series' current surge in popularity thanks to its rotation on Cartoon Network and its outstanding DVD sales, now seemed like the perfect time to bring Fry, Bender, Leela and company to the action-figure shelves," said Toynami President George Sohn. Toynami's Futurama action-figure exclusive for Comic-Con will be none other than "Universe-1 Bender," the gold-plated alternate-universe version of everyone's favorite larcenous and belligerent robot, as seen in the episode "The Farnsworth Parabox." New And Old Speed Racer From Art Asylum

There's a new racing team on the block, but their background is solid. Speed Racer is now in his 40's with kids of his own named Velocity and Speed Jr. who carry on the family tradition. Backing them up are Spritle and Chim Chim who have grown BIG over the years! Turns out Chim Chim was actually a baby Gorilla..who knew??

This 5 inch action figure line comes fully articulated packed with a DVD of the new animation or a sound track. The line features Speed Jr, Speed Sr., Velocity and Racer X. Check out SPEED RACER LIVES for more info and soon to be released 7 minute episodes of a new Speed Racer cartoon.

Art Asylum, with Executive Producer Tramp and Animagic's Jeff Nodelman will create animated promos that will be launched this summer, followed by DVD's that will be packaged with the new toy line hitting retail stores in the fall of 2006. Additionally, a follow-up soundtrack will hit stores in the fourth quarter of 2006, with all new music from some of today's hottest artists.
